This is not some cheap unit that can barley function.The burr grinder is one of the quietest I've have used. It grinds the beans into a very fine and even powder. The included tamper is a solid unit that works well. The machine itself is very sleek and the controls and thoughtfulness in storage and use feels very high-end. Instructions are easy to read and follow. It doesn't take long for the unit to heat up and give you a wonderful cup of espresso and neither does the cleaning process. It gives you a nice milk froth so you can practice making leaves in your drink if you like. overall while on the pricy side if you want a espresso machine that will last and look good this is for you.

Milk is heated with steam and frothed up. Milk comes out warm and smooth. I love the milk frothing function.

There is a cup warming plate on the top. You can turn the cups upside down, and they capture and hold the heat.It warms my cups just perfectly before I pull my shots.

Is it difficult to clean the grinder? How often?

When you take out the top conical burr for the first time it is a bit tight but that's normal.I just used the provided brush to clean, then I use a small vacuum to remove any excess beans that are lodged into the grinder. Overall it took me about 2-3 minute to clean the grinder. And I cleaned it every week.

Do you guys use whole coffee bean or pre ground?

Are you serious? This is an espresso machine so it is mainly used for cafe. However It has preset functions for Cappuccino and Latte other than espresso. And both the quantity of espresso and the quantity of milk can be programmed for each function.

Should I use whole coffee beans or pre ground?

This is an espresso machine with a grinder and I suggest you use whole beans. Pre-ground coffee also work, however you may lose out on quality. The grinder has 15 grinding levels for your choice. l love the grinding function of the capuchino maker machine.
